GI Joe and Cobra artwork

I've been cleaning out our art studio this last week and stumbled over a flash drive filled with old GIJOE artwork I made years ago. I was working in a call center where I'd draw Joes during my lunches and any time the phones weren't blowing up. Pretty sure I spent a solid year drawing and coloring Joes. It was something of a dark period of my life but making these gave me a good project to keep my mind occupied.

Powerwolf Poster

I've been listening to the German powermetal band "Powerwolf" lately on Youtube and Spotify. 

I like the idea that they weave werewolf and vampire lore into their songs and that they use choirs and other medival religious elements in their story telling. They've just released a new single "Kiss of the Cobra King" and I felt compelled to make them a promo poster using my recently designed cyborg werewolf. 

Hail the Apocalypse Poster

Here's the completed poster set inspired by Avatar's "Hail the Apocalypse". 

Hopefully they'll inspire you to check out the band. I recommend looking at their YouTube channel or pull them up on Spotify. 

I've decided that when I make music inspired posters, I'm going to create them in two formats, a larger 18x24 poster size and a smaller, 11x17 legal size. I prefer the larger format but the smaller is useful if you want to actually print out the posters as promotional pieces.

Hail the Apocalypse Music Video

I stumbled over the band "Avatar" on YouTube about two years ago and it awakened a love for European metal that I never knew existed inside of me. 

This last week I've been thinking about one of my favorite albums by the band, "Hail the Apocalypse" and I wanted to do a poster based off the title song. 

I've been doodling in my sketchbook and landed on the horsemen of the apocalypse as being my go-to imagery. Here's my take on the horsemen on an 11x17 poster. 

I'm also working on a larger poster but it's a little more involved so it'll take me another week or two to complete. If you've never checked out the band, give them a listen. My wife and I have seen them in concert three times and they are great guys!

Dark Dimention Haunted Experience Poster

Last year we met the cool cats that run the Dark Dimension Haunted Experience in NC. 

They commissioned us to create a poster that memorialized their 2019 Haunted House Experience. We passed pencil sketches back and forth, and voila! A full color 18x24 memorial poster was born!

Metal Poster: Black River Rebels Poster

I sketched out this Black River Rebels gig poster last year. I needed a break from working on comics today so I decided to add color to it.
