For those of you that don't know, Pretty Weird Art is the love child of artists Ethan and Rachel Mongin. We started Pretty Weird Art in 2013 with the hopes of writing and illustrating our own comics. I can't speak for Rachel, but my goal in making comics has always been pretty simple, I want to write and illustrate 10 stories and build an audience that enjoys reading them. If I haven't been able to build an audience by the time I've finished telling my 10 tales, then I'll pack up my artistic bags and find something else to do with my free time.
Since 2013 I've made a lot of progress. We've actually completed 12 individual comic book issues, some of which contribute towards my goal of 10 completed stories. Below is the list of stories that are in the works.
Skull Gun Bunny
Graphic Novel:
Two anthropomorphic best friends are killed by monsters, brought
back to life by Death, and have to hunt down the monster-making madman that killed them.
(I've completed the first 3 issues of this 6 issue story. I'm in the process of inking issues 4 & 5 right now. Once all 6 issues are completed, I'm going to rework the dialogue and add some introductory pages for the final graphic novel)
Kitten Barbarian the
Series:
Conan the Barbarian is reincarnated as a kitten.
(I've completed a one-shot comic for this idea but would like to tell it again within a more coherent sequential narrative)
Death Elf and Woose:
The chosen one who is supposed to save his fantasy world
from destruction is an idiot.
(Rachel and I have completed the first 3 issues of this 6 issue story. Once all 6 issues are complete, we'll edit them together in a graphic novel format. )
Highway 13:
A small town just off the interstate sucks passersby into a
bizarre world where Brigadoon meets the Outer Limits.
(Will begin work on this comic in 2018)
Doombot19:
An automated death machine from the future decides it wants
to be a painter instead of a killer.
(Currently writing / thumb nailing comic)
Puritan | Metal Head:
A puritan and a metal head fall into awkward, dysfunctional love.

Demarcus Williams and
the Job from Hell:
An unemployed college graduate accidentally accepts a job as
IT Tech support for Hell.

Evil Overthrowers:
Aliens use a small town as a testing ground for the
impending invasion of earth.

Churchology Graphic
Novel:
GN exploring Basic Theology and Bible literacy.

Monster Classroom:
A student teacher is assigned to teach a classroom filled
with literal “Little Monsters”.
